Sadie and the Monster

Sadie was born loud! She cries loudly, laughs uproariously, shouts much louder than she needs to. So when Sadie goes to school she gets a shock: other children find her a pain! Slowly Sadie finds that her way of expressing herself gets her into more and more trouble. She gets steadily quieter…. until she barely speaks at all. But things can’t stay that way and eventually, Sadie blows her lid! And this happens in a very unusual way, involving a huge blue monster, some home-made armour and masses of paper cutouts! This is a story about learning to be true to  yourself despite what others might say, but it’s also about compassion, for oneself and for others. Sadie learns that behind every unkind expression is another person trying to be heard.
